Greetings Minesing Moments Readers!

I am sure I am not alone when talking about being so tired of the COVID pandemic.  BUT it is still here, worse than it was in the spring and it continues to be a very serious situation.  We need to ensure social distancing continues, handwashing and staying in our social bubbles.  If it hasn’t sunk in yet, just think about it this way, do you want to be responsible for infecting someone you love or are close to?  A small child, a parent or grandparent?  That would be a really horrible thing to have to live with should something happen to that person.  Let’s all work together and do our part.  Continue to be patient, thoughtful, and remember kindness goes a long way.

Christmas decorating has started for so many around Simcoe County and I really like the idea of getting things all decked out for the holidays a little earlier this year and to light up our villages as much as possible.  Give your neighbours and friends something to enjoy on their drive home from work or in their evening walks. Let’s see what we can do Minesing and surrounding communities!  Bust out those extra strings of Christmas lights, wreaths, and whatever else you can brighten up your house to welcome in the upcoming season!  If you have elderly neighbours, maybe you can offer to help them hang some lights or get some decorations out for them.  We can all use support during this time, we know Springwater is the perfect place for these types of acts of kindness.

Minesing Christmas Tractor Parade – In light of the limits that Covid-19 has placed on many Christmas festivities this year, your local farmers have come together to plan a Christmas Tractor Parade!  On Friday December 11th, starting at 7 pm, (route still to be determined) the tractors will parade through our Minesing.  They will be collecting food for the Elmvale Food Bank.  If you are able to donate, please have any donations bagged and you will be able to place them in the boxes on the last wagon in the parade.  All tractors are welcome, if you are interested in participating, please call or text Shannon Giffen at 705-241-9791.  Our local farmers are amazing!  If you are from surrounding communities, we’d love to have you join us.  We invite you to park at the school and enjoy the parade along the streets.  Rumour has it there may be some special guests joining the farmers in the parade.

Firefighters Christmas Tree Sale – A reminder that the South Springwater Firefighters Association will be holding its annual Christmas Tree Sale at 14 Finlay Mill (Madison Taylor Design) in Midhurst starting Saturday November 28th.  Support your local firefighters!
