Minesing Moments
It’s just a few more days before the 4th Annual Tractor Parade, Friday December 8th. This year we are adding the tree lighting to the Friday night activities.
6:30 p.m. – Tree Lighting and hot chocolate at the Minesing Community Centre. Donation/Drop Off of food bank items at the tree.
7:00 p.m. – The Parade begins its route. Food and monetary donations will both be collected during the parade right after the fire truck. Please have your donations ready for the elves that will be walking the route and collecting items.
Please remember to not stand on the roadway along the parade route as some of the tractors are large and require the width of the roadway. There is also NO PARKING along the parade route. There is parking at the community centre and at the school as well as at the parks in the village.
The village is looking very festive with Christmas lights, well done neighbours! Not sure if anyone has had the chance to visit the Magic of Lights displace at Springwater Park this year but I have heard it has been added to since last year and is definitely something to see. With the snow falling it will look even better I am sure.
For those travelling over the next month, be sure to take your time and leave plenty of space in front of you when slowing down. It’s amazing how we forget how slippery it gets from one winter to the next. Be safe!
This year is going to be extra difficult for many folks due to the increasing costs of everything. If you are able to donate, please do so at your local food banks, salvation army kettles or any other charities that you see fit. Please be sure to do your research before donating as some charities allocate their donations differently and you may not be aware of where your money is going.
Until next time, turn up the Christmas carols and get wrapping, we are getting close to the big day!
