People approach me and ask me if I know about all kinds of things. I have started a new column, “You Wanted To Know”. This is a new column and I want your questions of curiosity. Email or call and I will find the answer. The first one is on page 11 is about black squirrels with red tails. Read and learn.

North Simcoe Springwater News us growing. I have increased mail delivery to Township of Tiny to include Lafontaine area and north Tiny. I will continue to increase distribution as advertiser income allows. Thank you advertising customers for enabling this growth. Readers please let the business know that you have seen their ads. I have hired a new designer and I am sure you will see the difference. This will allow me to cover more events in the community and to continue with my expansion plans for this newspaper. Newspapers are a way of the past….I think not. Four out of five people still read a newspaper in print. There is lots of Government support from the Federal level, Provincial level and most municipalities.  “As part of the government’s work to promote Ontario-made products, services businesses and workers, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Transportation and the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Gaming have directed the largest four government agencies to allocate a minimum of 25 per cent of their annual advertising spending for Ontario publishers”, taken from a media release from the premiums office.

We are now in the middle of summer and events are in full swing. The events page in full of activities for you to do. We live in a most beautiful area that is rich with music on the water. See page 20 for full details.

Enjoy the beaches, lakes, rivers and lakes and be safe! Sing to the music its good for your soul!
