Thursday November 7, 2024   9:30am-12pm:  Jill Farren: Motivational Speaker

Join us for a two-part workshop featuring Jill Farren, a Master Empowerment and Life Coach which will include a Mindset-Meditation-Medical Journaling Workshop and an Empowerment Session. This mind-blowing session gives you total control over how you want to feel.  Most of her clients have said “I just want to feel better”, for many reasons including physically, emotionally, and energetically. This workshop takes you through the mindset pathway model and how to use it. This practice gives you complete control of your thoughts that lead directly to your results and that changes how you feel. Jill will walk participants through a guided 5-minute meditation and provide everyone the skills to practice meditation at home in as little as 1-minute, and the ability to gradually add more time to your mediation sessions. This will bring feelings of calm, peace, energy, creativity, and focus to your day immediately. The last section of the workshop involves medical journaling with which the group will complete a full day together. This simple practice of completing an individualized journal each day will allow you to understand the value of your physical and emotional well-being.

Township of Tiny Farm Crawl provides local farm to table experience
Date: August 28, 2024

(Tiny, Ontario) On Saturday August 24, the Township of Tiny hosted the 2024 Farm Crawl.

Guests toured several farms and the township’s Community Garden in Perkinsfield Park to experience the rich agricultural history of the community which provides the opportunity to support our local farmers and growers. Tickets for the Farm Crawl were sold for $70 and  included admission to all four farms, a guided shuttle bus between locations, breakfast and lunch made by local chefs at Fresh Baked Consulting, and ‘swag bags’ filled with local food and tourism information and some goodies from participating businesses.

Participants toured Barnell Ridge, Monpiero Farms, Thunder Beach Acres, and Windlee Farms. Participants had the opportunity to see various farm animals, take in scenic views during walks through each farm, shop at vendors for local products, and get an inside look at local agricultural and farming operations. The event also supported Tiny’s farmers and growers directly by giving guests an opportunity to purchase products from the farms.

“I want to give a special thank you to all of the farms that participated in this year’s Farm Crawl for inviting the community into your farms, and sharing your knowledge, passion, and love of agriculture,” said Mayor Evans. “It is important to support our local farms as we know that by  supporting small businesses, the economic benefits stay in our community”.

$113,700 OTF Grant from the Ontario Government allows Township of Tiny to install accessible water fill stations
(Tiny, ON – September 4, 2024) – On Friday, MPP Jill Dunlop joined Mayor David Evans and staff for

a ribbon cutting to celebrate the installation of 13 accessible water fill stations at popular municipal

parks, facilities, and beaches throughout the Township of Tiny. This project was made possible thanks to a $113,700 Capital grant awarded in 2022 by the provincial government’s Ontario Trillium

Foundation (OTF).

“I was happy to join the Township of Tiny for the ribbon cutting of the new accessible touchless water

stations today,” said Jill Dunlop, MPP for Simcoe North. “This project, made possible by the generous

support of the province through the Ontario Trillium Foundation, will enhance this community’s public spaces and promote health and well-being. Thank you to everyone involved in bringing this valuable amenity to residents and visitors.”

The OTF grant enabled the township to install the water fill stations at the following locations:

  • Balm Beach – 18 Tiny Beaches Road North
  • Bernie LeClair Trail Head – 99 Balm Beach

Road East

  • Bluewater Beach – 70 Nicole Boulevard
  • Jackson Park – 1 Marina Road
  • Lafontaine Beach – 775 Lafontaine Road West
  • Lafontaine Park – 342 Rue Lafontaine Road

West

  • Perkinsfield Park – 43 County Road 6 South
  • Tiny Township Community Centre (TTCC)

*inside the centre – 91 Concession 8 East

  • Toanche Park – 771 Champlain Road
  • Woodland Beach – 2020 Tiny Beaches Road

South

  • Wyebridge Park – 8340 Highway 93
  • Wyevale Park – 10 Concession 5 East
  • Wyevale Soccer Pitches – 29 Concession 5 East

“We’re thrilled to see the accessible water fill stations operating throughout our community,” said Mayor

David Evans. “This project aligns with the Township of Tiny’s ongoing commitment to being a Blue

Community by making clean drinking water easily accessible to the public which also helps to reduce

single use plastics. On behalf of the township, I want to thank the Province of Ontario and the Ontario

Trillium Foundation for making this project a reality”.

In 2011, the Township of Tiny became the first Blue Community in Ontario, and third in all of Canada. In order to become a Blue Community, a municipality must recognize water and sanitation as human rights, ban or phase out the sale of bottled water in municipal facilities and at municipal events, and promote publicly financed, owned, and operated water and wastewater services. The accessible water fill stations emphasize the township’s commitment to being a Blue Community by making clean drinking water available to the public. For more information on this project, visit www.tiny.ca/waterstations.

The Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF) is an agency of the Ontario government with a mission to build healthy and vibrant communities across the province. Last year, OTF invested more than $110M into 1,044 community projects and multi-sector partnerships. Projects aim to enhance economic well-being, foster more active lifestyles, support child and youth development, provide spaces for people to come together and connect, and create a more sustainable environment.
