Tay Township’s Inaugural Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament ‘Tee Off With Tay’ raises $68,000
Tay, Ontario – The community came together in full force for the inaugural Mayor’s Charity Golf Tournament, “Tee Off With Tay,” held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at the Midland Golf & Country Club. The event proved to be a tremendous success, raising $68,000 to support vital community initiatives.
Proceeds from the tournament will go towards multiple community initiatives, including:
$10,000 to Tay Shores Public Elementary School and $10,000 to St. Antoine Daniel Catholic Elementary School for nutrition programs and outdoor learning, ensuring students have access to both nourishing meals and enriching educational experiences.
$22,500 to Georgian Bay General Hospital for the acquisition of an MRI machine, which will significantly reduce wait times, ensuring swift diagnoses, referrals and treatments for better patient outcomes and timely care both locally and throughout the region.
$22,500 to Waypoint Centre for Mental Health Care, supporting key programs like the North Simcoe Youth Wellness Hub, the Family, Child and Youth Program and the Youth Resiliency Program, which continue to transform mental health care for youth in our community.
$1,500 to the Victoria Harbour St. Vincent De Paul Society Food Bank which will be used for their Christmas hamper campaign and $1,500 to the Port McNicoll Lions Club, which will be used for their Christmas Toy and Food Drive, ensuring that these resources are available to those who need them most.
