Inter-Library Loan Service On Hold
With the Canada Post Strike currently in effect, all inter-library loan service is on hold at this time. We invite you to try using our extensive online database of ebooks and eaudiobooks available at cloudLibrary and hopefully we can reinstate this service again soon. Thank you for your patience.
Temporary Closure for Painting
The Elmvale branch will be getting a fresh set of paint on the walls and as a result, this branch will be closed the first week of December (Monday December 2 to Saturday December 7). We will reopen our doors on Monday December 9. During our closure programs such as Storytime and EarlyON Stay, Play and Learn will run in the McGuire room downstairs but circulation of library items will not be available. Returns of books, DVDs etc. are welcome that week via our return box outside the front door of the building.
Take and Make Craft
Every month the library will have a new FREE craft kit for you to take home and make! Each month be sure to stop by early as these kits are only available while supplies last. Thursday December 5: Sock Snowman kit.
Holiday Craft Bags
Starting on Monday December 9 our very popular holiday craft bags for kids will be available at the library! Great for ages 5-10 these bags include seven activities to enjoy. Cost $10 per bag while supplies last.
Holiday Music
Join us for live holiday music, card making and hot chocolate! Tuesday December 10, 5:30pm at Midhurst Branch. Cost: Free for all ages. This is a drop-in program with no registration required.
Cookie Decorating Party!
Get in the festive spirit and enjoy the live holiday music in the library while decorating a yummy gingerbread cookie! This program will run while supplies last Tuesday December 10, 5:30pm at Midhurst Branch. Cost: $1 per cookie. This is a drop-in program with no registration required while supplies last.
Tween/Teen DIY Water Bottle Decal
Have an old water bottle? Spruce it up at the library using our Cricut machine. Create your own personalized decal! Participants, please bring your own water bottle to decorate. Thursday December 12, 4pm at Midhurst Branch. Cost: Free. Registration required.
Santa Storytime
Santa is coming to the library! He will share some stories, answer your questions, sing carols, and you can even tell him what you would like for Christmas this year! Photos and videos are welcome. A take home craft will be available as supplies last. Saturday December 14, 10:30am at Elmvale Branch or Saturday December 14, 1:30pm at Midhurst Branch. Cost: Free. Registration required.
Q-Tip Snowflakes
Come on into the Midhurst or Elmvale branches and make some q-tip snowflakes! Instructions and supplies will be provided by the library. This drop-in program is available as supplies last. Thursday December 19, 10am at Elmvale and Midhurst Branches. Cost: FREE.

Springwater Public Library branches will close on the following holiday dates in 2024: Christmas Eve: Tuesday December 24 close at 2pm, Christmas Day: Wednesday December 25, Boxing Day: Thursday December 26, New Years Eve: Tuesday December 31 close at 2pm, New Years Day: Wednesday January 1, 2025.
