Summer Reading Challenge
July 2 to August 15:
This program encourages children to read and be active during the summer. Kids will receive a ballot when they finish a book or participate in a challenge. Ages: 4-14. Registration is in person only. June 9- June 14: registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After June 14: registration is open to everyone.

Lawn Games
Tuesday August 5, 2:00-3:00
Kids will play a variety of lawn games at the library. Free. Ages: 4-14. Registration is in person only. A minimum of 5 participants is required to run a program. June 16- June 21: registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After June 23: registration open to everyone.
Make a Glue Suncatcher
Monday August 11, 11:00
Make a suncatcher with glue, watercolours/food colouring, and beads. Free. Ages: 4-14. Registration is in person only. A minimum of 5 participants is required to run a program. June 16- June 21: registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After June 23: registration open to everyone.
Make a Firefly Lantern
Wednesday August 27, 11:00
Make and decorate a lantern. Cost: $2.00. Ages: 4-14. Registration is in person only. A minimum of 5 participants is required to run a program. June 16- June 21: registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After June 23: registration open to everyone.
Reading Challenge Party
Friday August 15th, at 1:00pm
Children who registered for the Summer Reading Challenge are invited to a Reading Challenge party. Registration must be in-person and parents/guardians must remain for the in the building for the duration of the program.
Spanish Classes
Classes are from 1:00-1:45
Cost: $40.00 for members, $60.00 for non-members
Beginner- Mondays 6 weeks- Sep 8- October 27. No class Oct 6 and 13.
Advanced- Thursdays, 6 weeks- Sep 4- Oct 16. No class Oct 9
July 18- July 24- registration for Penetanguishene tax paying members.
After July 24- registration will be open to everybody. A minimum of 5 participants is required to run a program.
No Intermediate level this fall due to scheduling.
First Time Homebuyers Info Session
Friday, September 12, 10:30-11:30
Limited spots. Costs: $2 for members, $5 for non-members, non-refundable, non-transferable. August 1 to August 8: Registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After August 8: Registrations open to everyone.
Seniors Walk & Lunch
September 24, 10:45am- 1:00pm
The program includes a short walk or a long walk, healthy lunch, and a speaker from Meridian Bank. Cost: Free, non-transferable. August 8th – August 15th: Registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. August 16th – September 16th: Registration open to everyone.
Awenda Park Visit
Tuesday, September 30, 10:00-2:00
Guided tour with Tim Tully, Chief Park Naturalist. The cost is $5.00 members, $7.00 for non-members. Bring your own lunch. Parking fees apply. July 21 to July 28: Registration open to Penetanguishene tax paying members.
After July 28: Registration open to everyone.
A minimum of 5 participants are required to run the program. Registration for this program is at the Library, not at Awenda Park.
