New Sr. AA Team Ignites Elmvale Hockey Spirit

By Jared Robertson

ELMVALE – July 17, 2025 – The Elmvale community is buzzing with excitement as we proudly announce the formation of the Elmvale Harvesters Sr. AA Hockey Club. This newly established team promises to bring the excitement of thrilling hockey action to our town, fostering a spirit of camaraderie, competition and community pride.

The Harvesters Hockey club aims to not only entertain fans with their skilled, fast paced, and hard-hitting play, but also serve as a platform for local talent, providing opportunities for players to showcase their abilities at a higher level.

“We’re delighted to bring Senior Hockey back to Elmvale,” said team Vice President and Director of Hockey Operations, Jared Robertson. “Our goal is to create a team that the community can rally behind—a team that represents our values of hard work, dedication, and unity. We have our sights set on being a very competitive team right out of the gate, which I think is a clear representation of the quality of hockey players in our area”.

The Harvesters will compete in the highly regarded Ontario Elite Hockey League – a member league of the Ontario Hockey Association. They will face off against some of the best teams in Ontario, all battling for the chance to win the historic J.F Paxton Trophy as the OEHL AA Champions. The J.F Paxton Champions are eligible to challenge for the Allen Cup, Canada’s National Sr. AAA Championship which is Canada’s oldest hockey competition which has been competed for 117 times since 1908. Last year, the OEHL Champion Minto 81’s reached the semifinals of the Allen Cup Tournament, losing to the eventual champions and finishing the year as a top 4 Sr. team in Canada.

The Elmvale Harvesters will hold their inaugural season this coming fall. Ten home games will be played at the Elmvale Community Arena with most games to be scheduled for Saturday nights at 8:00 pm.  Fans can expect a dynamic atmosphere, complete with family-friendly entertainment, community events, and a blueline club upstairs (19+) during game nights.

The Harvesters organization are currently looking to fill game day volunteer positions, including ticket sales, merchandise, ushers, 50/50 sales, water and equipment assistants and more! If you are interested in joining our amazing team of local volunteers, please email Gameday@elmvaleharvesters.com.

The Harvesters are also actively seeking community support, including local sponsorships and partnerships to help foster a sustainable hockey culture in Elmvale. This is a unique opportunity for local businesses to engage with the community and support our athletes. If you are interested in pursuing a sponsorship opportunity with the Elmvale Harvesters, please email Info@elmvaleharvesters.com.
