Book Club

First Thursday of each month, 4:00pm – 5:00pm

The book club is resuming this fall. We meet once a month at the library to discuss a pre-selected book. September’s book is ‘The Christie Affair’ By Nina de Gramont. If you have any questions about the book club, please contact the library.

A minimum of 5 participants is needed to run the program.

Spanish Classes

Classes are from 1:00-1:45

Cost: $40.00 for members, $60.00 for non-members

Beginner- Mondays 6 weeks- Sep 8- October 27. No class Oct 6 and 13.

Advanced- Thursdays, 6 weeks- Sep 4- Oct 16. No class Oct 9

July 18- July 24- registration for Penetanguishene tax paying members.

After July 24- registration will be open to everybody.  A minimum of 5 participants is required to run a program.

No Intermediate level this fall due to scheduling.

Real Estate Transaction Info Session

Friday, September 12, 10:30-11:30

Limited spots. Costs: $2 for members, $5 for non-members, non-refundable, non-transferable. August 1 to August 8: Registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After August 8: Registrations open to everyone.

Decorate Your Initials

Friday September 19, 4:00pm-5:00pm

Decorate your initial with assorted materials. Initial will be precut on cork. Upon registration, participants must say what letter they wish to decorate.

Cost: $2.00 for members, $3.00 for non-members. Non-transferable. August 18th – August 25th: Registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. After August 25th: Registration open to everyone.

Seniors Walk & Lunch

Wednesday September 24, 10:45am- 1:00pm

The program includes a short walk or a long walk, healthy lunch, and a speaker from Meridian Bank. Cost: Free, non-transferable. August 8th – August 15th: Registration open to Penetanguishene taxpaying members. August 16th – September 16th: Registration open to everyone.

Awenda Park Visit

Tuesday, September 30, 10:00-2:00

Guided tour with Tim Tully, Chief Park Naturalist. The cost is $5.00 members, $7.00 for non-members. Bring your own lunch. Parking fees apply. July 21 to July 28: Registration open to Penetanguishene tax paying members.

After July 28: Registration open to everyone.

A minimum of 5 participants is required to run the program.

Author Visit with Bianca Marais

Wednesday, September 17, 6-7:30pm

Join MPL for an evening of conversation about craft and characters with bestselling author Bianca Marais! Bianca is the author of Witches of Moonshyne Manor, Hum If You Don’t Know the Words, If You Want to Make God Laugh, and her latest mystery, A Most Puzzling Murder, released this past June. In addition to writing novels, Bianca is an experienced creative writing instructor and a passionate mentor to emerging writers.

Road Safety in Ontario

Monday, September 15, 11am

In this free presentation designed for newcomers to Ontario, the Ministry of Transportation will discuss road safety rules in Ontario. Topics include pedestrian safety, seatbelt and car seat laws, stopping for school buses, emergency vehicles, the Tow Zone Pilot Program, and laws on impaired and distracted driving.

Genealogy Club

3rd Thursday of the month, starting September 18, 2-3pm

Whether you’re starting your family tree or have years of research in hand, our informal monthly gathering of genealogists and local history enthusiasts offers a welcoming space to swap stories, share research tips and tricks, and connect with others passionate about tracing roots and uncovering the past.
