By Taylor Klein Gebbinck, Sep 7, 2025
The Royals battled hard this past weekend and emerged victorious, winning the Paul “Gummy” Rowat for the first time since before 1998. Coming together at just the right time, the team agreed it was the best baseball they had played all season.
Royals beat the Selects in the finals 4-0; Semi final game between Selects beat the Merchants 4-3 and took 14 innings, normally 7 innings are played. 1st semi finals Royals the Legion 15-4. Legion was top team in the regular season
Honourable mention goes to the Selects and Merchants, who fought through a thrilling 14-inning semi-final game, showcasing the grit and dedication that define this league.
A special thank you is extended to Tim and Tom McGinnis and Andrew Priest for their tireless work maintaining the diamonds, managing groundskeeping, and ensuring the league runs smoothly. Their commitment—week after week and especially on tournament weekends—makes this community tradition possible.
