HARVESTERS REBOUND WITH FOUR-GAME SURGE TO CLIMB CONFERENCE STANDINGS

By Adrianna McGinnis,

After a tough loss in their home opener, the Elmvale Harvesters have bounced back with determination and a renewed offensive spark, stringing together four straight victories to climb into second place in the North Conference. What began as a slow start has quickly transformed into one of the league’s strongest early-season surges.

The turnaround began on November 8 when the Harvesters welcomed the Georgian Bay Applekings to the Elmvale Arena for a highly anticipated local matchup. The hometown crowd was treated to an offensive showcase as Elmvale poured in 11 goals en route to an 11–7 victory. The Will Marshall Insurance Brokers 3 Stars of the Game highlighted top-tier performances from across the ice: 1st Star Jacob Kelly, 2nd Star Jacob Robitaille (GB), and 3rd Star Dylan Palomaki.

The following night, November 9, Elmvale travelled to Minto for a gritty back-and-forth battle against the 81’s. Neither side could pull away as momentum swung repeatedly, forcing the game into overtime. The Harvesters showed poise and resilience, securing a 6–5 OT win. The Will Marshall Insurance Brokers 3 Stars of the Game were led by 1st Star Noah Featherstonhaugh Gowe, with 2nd Star Ryan Young and 3rd Star Austin Pope rounding out the honours.

On November 15, the Harvesters hit the road once again, this time to face the Lucknow Lancers. Elmvale took control and maintained steady pressure throughout the game, ultimately earning a commanding 9–6 win. The Will Marshall Insurance Brokers 3 Stars of the Game recognized another balanced effort with 1st Star Brad Keupfer, 2nd Star Jacob Kelly, and 3rd Star Riley Pitt.

The strong road play continued on November 16 as the Harvesters made a short trip to Shelburne to face the Muskies. Elmvale controlled the game from start to finish, executing a steady, structured performance that resulted in a convincing 4–1 victory, extending their win streak to four straight. The Will Marshall Insurance Brokers 3 Stars of the Game for this matchup featured standout efforts from 1st Star Andrew Best, 2nd Star David Pearce, and 3rd Star Devin Shoreman.

This recent winning stretch has solidified Elmvale’s position near the top of the standings. The team now sits second in the North Conference, trailing only the Saugeen Shores Winterhawks. Offensively, forward #9 Jacob Kelly has been unstoppable, currently leading the entire league with 24 points, a performance that has made him one of the league’s most dynamic and dangerous players. The Harvesters now hold a 6-3-0 record on the season.

Looking ahead, fans will return to the Elmvale Arena on November 23 at 4:30 for a special Youth Night and Teddy Bear Toss. All fans; young and old, are encouraged to wear any team jersey to show their spirit, whether it represents a local sports program, a school team, or an organization they’re proud of. The crowd will also take part in the beloved Teddy Bear Toss by bringing a new or gently used stuffed animal to throw onto the ice after the Harvesters score their first goal, with all collected items donated to local families in need.

After the final buzzer, fans will have the opportunity to meet the players, take photos, and get their programs or merchandise signed, making it a memorable night for supporters of all ages.

With momentum building and the community rallying behind them, the Harvesters look poised to continue their climb as the season unfolds.
