Authentic Argentinian Tango is a dance like no other, free from the constraints of ballroom formality and stage show theatrics. It’s the real deal, and we’re bringing it to you! Meet our dance instructors – Carlos and Alison – Winners of the prestigious 2014 Buenos Aires Tango Championship, these dynamic instructors have been dazzling audiences around the globe for over 15 years!
The classes run 4 Wednesdays in February: February 7, 14, 21, 28.
- Beginner Tango class will run Wednesdays from 6:15pm-6:45pm – For those new to Tango classes.
- Improver Tango class will run Wednesdays from 6:45pm-7:45pm – For those that participated in the January Tango classes and want to continue improving their skills.

Jan. 26, 2024 – MIDLAND – The Midland Cultural Centre is thrilled to announce an exciting live musical documentary event, “Becoming the Beatles,” featuring the remarkable talents of Yale-educated musician and storyteller, Haley Marie. This captivating performance is set to take place on Friday, February 23rd at 8pm at the Midland Cultural Centre.
Becoming the Beatles is definitely not a tribute act. It’s a show about four boys: one born during an air raid, one who had to reverse the strings on his guitar to make sense of it, one who stayed up late practicing with tears in his eyes and another who couldn’t read or write until he was eight. It’s also the story of a visionary young producer who was desperate to find his way out of the ‘comedy division’ at Parlophone records.
With a blend of musical analysis and years of research at her disposal, Haley Marie delivers a world-class performance, exploring the extraordinary rise to fame, the connection to classical music, and the transformative impact the Beatles had on the world.
Hear first-hand how the band used flour and water to fasten their logo to the side of their van en route to Germany. How that same band was turned down by 80% of the English recording market yet defied the odds to become the most successful musical group in history.

The Gordon Lightfoot Tribute

Jan. 26, 2024 – MIDLAND -Classic Lightfoot Live stands as Canada’s premier tribute to the legendary folk rocker, Gordon Lightfoot. Led by the remarkable ensemble of vocalist and guitarist John Stinson, music director and bassist Bob Doidge (Gord’s record producer), lead guitarist Eric Kidd, bassist Steve Eyers (Gord’s nephew), this show whisks you down a nostalgic journey through Lightfoot’s iconic music.
Founded in 2012 by lead vocalist, John Stinson, a long time Ontario musician. John has been entertaining audiences around Ontario for over 30 years. He has been widely praised for his uncanny sonic resemblance to Gord, and his attention to replicating Gord’s original studio recordings. John was mentored to play Gordon Lightfoot music by the legendary Lightfoot lead guitarist, Red Shea.
