SIMPSON, Luella (nee STONE)
Passed away peacefully at home in her sleep on September 7, 2025 Luella’s life was a beautiful blend of adventure, devotion, and deep-rooted love for her community. Born in the Elmvale area, she carried a lifelong affection for the town and all it represented. Her passion for travel took her to many corners of the world, both on land and water, yet her greatest joy was always in returning home, where family, friends, church, and familiar surroundings welcomed her with love and affection.
She was a small but titanic family leader with a spirited personality who found delight in sports, and her energy was matched only by her unwavering commitment to those she loved. Her early years and boundless enthusiasm were devoted to raising her children, and she lived each chapter of her life and their lives with grace, warmth, and purpose.
Luella’s legacy lives on through her beloved family: husband Larry, son Dean (Margot), daughters Michelle (Andrew) and Kari (John), and her cherished grandchildren Brandon, Dustin, and Shailah (Josh). She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Lori, and by her late brother Pat, whose wife Mary remains a treasured part of the family. Luella was always the heart of many gatherings, the voice of encouragement, and the not-always-quiet strength behind countless moments of joy and motherly guidance. All that she was, provided Larry with the support he needed to help carry forward her vision of family.
Her absence leaves a space that cannot be filled, but her treasured spirit remains in every memory, every story shared, and every place she called home. She will be deeply missed and forever loved through the endless memories she created with so many cherished friends and her family. May Luella’s essence, grace, and warmth continue to provide comfort to all those she loved. May the memories you hold of her bring peace, and may her legacy continue to shine through the stories we share and the love we carry forward.
Thank you to the many who were part of her journey.
