STAMMERS, Brian Andrew
It is with heavy hearts and fond memories that we announce the passing of Brian Andrew Stammers after a courageous battle with cancer.
Brian is survived by his best friend and wife of 38 years Susan, his son Andrew, daughter-in-law Victoria and siblings Sharon, Wayne (Lynda) and Brenda (John).
Predeceased by his parents Albert and Margaret Stammers and siblings Nib, Dave, John, Al, Larry, Frank, Debbie and Ted.
He will be dearly missed by his mother-in-law Joan Rossiter (predeceased Art), sisters-in-law Cheryl, Lynne (Bill) and brother-in-law Jamie (Pam).
Uncle Brian “Bub” will be missed by all of his nieces and nephews.
Brian was a kind, gentle soul, with a heart of gold and welcoming smile. He loved to bring out the best in someone, whether it was a colleague at work, or coaching kids in sports. It made him happy to be a part of assisting others in striving toward their goals.
Brian had a soft spot for animals, particularly dogs, and they were quite drawn to him.
Brian’s love of sports brought him to The Voyageurs Hockey Team, with which he enjoyed travelling and playing hockey internationally, as well as kicking back with his roomie Mike and teammates between games.
A special thank you to Dr Boyd, the staff at Campbell House Hospice, and the Wasaga Beach Corvette Club for helping Brian have one last ride in his classic 1974 Corvette Sting Ray. It was a beautiful sunny day for the eleven car entourage to cruise the backroads.
Cremation has already taken place, and a private family ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Campbell House Hospice in Collingwood would be greatly appreciated.
