Vlietman, Rosalina (Lynn) (nee Govaert)

July 18, 1929 – September 21, 2025

It is with great sadness, that we announce the passing of our greatly loved Mom, Oma and great Oma, at the age of 96.

Lynn was the beloved wife of 68 years, to Petrus (Peter) Vlietman, (predeceased 2015).

Devoted and loving mother to Thea Patterson of Minesing, Frank (Debbie) Vlietman of Lindsay, and Marion Vlietman of Chatham.  Predeceased by daughter Elly Vlietman (2016), and son-in-law, Doug Patterson (2015).

Lynn was the beloved Oma of 8 and great Oma of 16.  She was the third of seven children born to Emile and Lotje Govaert of Amersfoort, The Netherlands.  Predeceased by five siblings, Lynn will be deeply missed by her one surviving sister, Betty Kraaijenbrink-Govaert, and many nieces and nephews in The Netherlands.

Lynn & Pete, along with their four young children, immigrated to Canada in 1958.  Being the only members of their families to do so, they thoroughly enjoyed their return trips to visit with family and friends there, and were excited to host family visiting them here, in Canada.  For many years their love of road trips took them to many places across the U.S. and even Mexico, to spend their summer vacations.  As doting and involved grandparents, Lynn & Pete were very much present in their grandchildren’s lives, and looked forward to family gatherings to simply spend time with them, and seeing them all thrive.  A private family service was held on Friday, Oct. 3rd at Minesing Union Cemetery.
