DESROCHES, Leona Ellen Veronica

Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Georgian Bay General Hospital, Midland on Thursday, October 15, 2026.  Leona Desroches (nee Hocken) of Elmvale, age 94. Beloved wife of the late Luc Desroches.

Loving mother of Joyce (late Bill) Reynolds, Linda (Ross) Eccleshall, Nelson (Sue) Desroches, Annette Middlemass, Bonnie Isaac (Trevor), Gary (Kim) Desroches and Sandra (Dave) Grenier.  Proud grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 24 great grand children.   Daughter of William and Reta (Crawford)  Hocken. Pre-deceased by sister, Velma (Mel) French, Mildred (Leonard) Cadeau, Madeline (Henry) Forget, Phyllis (Ken) Truax, Margaret (Roy) Truax, Francis (Alda) Hocken, Clinton (Buck) Hocken, Theresa (Grant) Ball.  Leona will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Thank you to the staff at Georgian Bay General General Hospital for their care and compassion of mom in her final days.

A visitation will be held at the Lynn-Stone Funeral Home in Elmvale on Tuesday, October 20, 2026 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.  A funeral mass will be held at Mt St Louis Church on Wednesday, October 21 at 11 am.

Interment Mt St Louis Cemetery.
