Djoerd (George) Strampel

It is with deep sorrow and deeper love that we share the passing of Djoerd (George) Strampel.  George passed away peacefully at his home, after a courageous battle with cancer, in his 75th year, on May 1st, 2026.

He is lovingly remembered by his wife of 52 years Alie Strampel.   Cherished father of Jeremy (George) his wife Cindy and Elizabeth and her husband Chris.  Treasured grandfather of Nick, Ben, Jake, Clara (Simon) and Kate.  Predeceased by his son Peter Strampel (1996).  George is survived by his siblings Taeke Strampel, Margie Noordegraaf (Strampel) and John Peter Strampel.  He is also remembered by many nieces, nephews, cousins, volunteer groups and the farming community.  George was predeceased by his parents Jelte and Aaltje Strampel, brother Walter Strampel and his sister Tineke Radder (nee Strampel).

George loved his farm life and the life it provided.  He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed kayaking, nothing brought him greater joy than being on the water.  He was very active in his church, his community, including Clearview Community Theatre, Salvation Army, always willing to give a helping hand.

George was a man of deep faith and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.  His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

Rest in Peace George, now in the hands of the Lord.
