Kids Programs this summer;

Parents/Guardians must remain in the building for the duration of the program. Please visit the website/social media for more information. A minimum of 5 participants is required to run the program. Non-transferable, non-refundable.

 

Summer of Soccer Summer Reading Challenge 2026

June 29th- August 11th Join us for arts & crafts, and sports programs!

                    

Make a Hair-tie Headband – Monday July 6th, 10:30am-11:30am

Create a stylish hairband using hair ties . Ages: 4-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Decorate a Soccer Ball – Thursday July 9th, 1:30pm-2:30pm

Get in the spirit for soccer this summer and decorate a ball! Ages: 4-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Magnetic Soccer Bowling – Tuesday July 14th, 2026, 2:00pm-3:00pm

Join us for a fun magnetic square bowling match! Ages: 4-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Earring Workshop – Thursday July 16th, 2026, 2:00pm-3:00pm

Join us and create your own pair of earrings. Ages: 10-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Cooking Class – Tuesday July 21st, 2:30pm-3:30pm

Join us in our kitchen and prepare a delicious meal! Menu : Lasagna Cups, Salad, Decorated Brownie Bites. Ages: 8 and up, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Pickleball – Thursday July 23rd  2026 meet at McGuire Park at 9:45am for a 10:00am-11:00am session. Ages: 4-14, Free. Bring your own water, sunscreen and snacks. Parents must remain on site for duration of the program.

 

Decorate Seashells – Tuesday July 28th, 2026, 2:30pm-3:30pm

Get creative and make some silly seashells! Ages: 4-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Make a Jelly Fish Lamp – Friday July 31st, 2026 , 11:00am -12:00pm

Join us and create a light-up jellyfish. Ages: 4-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Make a Pizza! – Wednesday August 5th, 1:00pm-2:00pm

Join us in our kitchen and make your own personal size pizza! Ages: 8-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

 

Create a craft – Self-led – August 19th, 2026, 2:00pm-4:00pm

Use your imagination and create a fun craft. While supplies last. Program Free of Charge. Ages: 4-12.

 

Make a Backpack charm – Wednesday August 26th , 2026, 1:30pm-2:30pm

Create a charm for your backpack. Ages: 4-12, $5.00 for members, $7.00 for non-members.

Library Crawl

Join the Penetanguishene Public Library for the 2026 Library Crawl from June 1st to August 31st. Present all six library cards at the Penetanguishene Public Library circulation desk by Friday September 4th to be entered into a draw for two (2) passes to Ripley’s Aquarium ($100.00 value). Participating libraries; Clearview Public Library, Essa Public Library, Ramara Public Library, Severn Public Library, Springwater Public Library, Tay Township Public Library. Please contact libraries for hours. One card per library is required – not per branch.

 

Learn to Assemble Blanket from Granny Squares – July 8, 10:30-11:30am

Stay Sharp: speaker: Keeping your mind active as you age – Thursday, July 30, 10:30-11:30am

Join us for this interactive workshop and explore brain-friendly activities designed for older adults. Speakers are from the North Simcoe Muskoka Specialized Geriatric Services Program. Registrations are open now. Free. A minimum of 5 people is required to run the program.

 

We Lend a Hand: The forgotten story of Ontario Farmerettes

Wednesday September 23rd 5:00-6:30pm

Join us at the Library for a screening of the documentary film that tells the extraordinary story of 40,000 teenage girls who volunteered on Canadian farms and helped win the Second World War.

Students : $10.00, Adults : $20.00. A minimum of 20 people is required to show the movie.

 

Preserving with Martha – Wed. Sept. 9th, 2:00-4:00

Join Certified Master Food Preserver Martha Rogers at the Library.
