Township of Springwater

SPRINGWATER — Springwater Sports Heritage has officially unveiled the Class of 2026 for its Hall of Fame, recognizing an outstanding group of athletes, builders, and teams whose accomplishments have left a lasting mark on the township’s sporting history.

The organization announced that five athletes, three builders, and two teams will be inducted into the Springwater Sports Heritage Hall of Fame during the sixth biennial Hall of Fame Banquet of Champions on Sept. 25, 2026, at the Barrie Country Club.

Springwater Sports Heritage says the Hall of Fame remains one of the organization’s principal commitments, dedicated to recognizing and preserving the achievements of local athletes, builders, and teams who have brought distinction to the Township of Springwater through sport.

“We are absolutely thrilled to unveil this exceptional group of Athletes, Builders, and Teams,” said Barb Maw, chairperson of the induction committee. “Every induction cycle is special, but there is an intense sense of energy this year. These individuals and teams have reached incredible heights in their respective fields, and it is a true honour to see them join the ranks of our outstanding Hall of Fame Alumni. The calibre of talent in our community continues to inspire us all.”

According to Springwater Sports Heritage, inducted athletes and teams are recognized for demonstrating exceptional talent, dedication, and determination, while builder inductees are honoured for helping create an environment that significantly benefitted athletics and athletes within the township.

The Hall of Fame currently operates as a digital archive while also displaying awards and memorabilia in a public area of the Elmvale Community Arena. The organization says it continues to work toward establishing a permanent dedicated Hall of Fame location

Upon induction, all athletes, builders, and team members become part of the Springwater Sports Heritage Alumni — a network the organization describes as “a prestigious and active circle of leaders dedicated to the future of our community.”

Springwater Sports Heritage says the alumni group works collectively to preserve local sporting history, inspire future generations, and strengthen community spirit throughout Springwater.

Additional details regarding ticket sales and banquet information are expected to be released in the coming weeks through Springwater Sports Heritage.
