Senior Social Coffee and Crafting

Drop by the library for a fun gathering of crafting and socializing! One morning a month we have a simple craft activity along with light refreshments. In May, make your own spring cards, including intricate paper flowers. Friday May 8, 11am at Midhurst Branch. Cost: Free. Registration required.

 Drop-In Mother’s Day Cards

All ages are welcome to drop by the library and make a Mother’s Day card for FREE! Saturday May 9, 10:30am-3:30pm at Elmvale and Midhurst Branch. Cost: Free. No registration required for this drop-in program.

 Victoria Day Holiday Hours

Please note, all branches of Springwater Public Library will be closed on Monday May 18 for the Victoria Day holiday long weekend. We will reopen to regular branch hours on Tuesday May 19 at 10am.

Drop-In Craft

The library will be offering a fun drop-in craft at both its Elmvale and Midhurst Branches. This program will be available as long as supplies last. There is no registration required for this free program. Thursday May 21: Moving Caterpillar

We Lend a Hand Movie Event

We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes is a 50 minute documentary film that tells the extraordinary story of the 40,000 young women who volunteered on Canadian farms and helped win the Second World War. After the screening there will be a special Q&A with the filmmakers and a chance to acquire film autographed copies of Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz: Memories of Ontario Farmerettes, Shirleyan English and Bonnie Sitter’s amazing book. This film has won awards for Best Documentary, Best Documentary Short, Best Canadian Documentary, and Best Film About Women. This event is sponsored by: Centre Flos Women’s Institute, Elmvale Community Recreation Association, Flos Agricultural Society, Friends of Springwater Public Library, and the Simcoe Federation of Agriculture.  Friday May 22, 7pm at the Elmvale Community Hall. Cost: $20.00. Tickets are available online through the library website.

Get Ready for Kindergarten

Join us at the library to get your child ready for kindergarten. This is a four week series; however, feel free to sign up for the specific week(s) that your child needs. Please register your child (parents do not need to register but a care giver’s attendance is required). Cost: Free. Mondays in June at Elmvale Branch, 10:30am. Registration required. Topics covered include: ABC’s, Phonics, and Printing their name, Numbers, Shapes, and Patterns, Packing lunches and Backpack needs.
