We Lend a Hand Movie Event
We Lend a Hand: The Forgotten Story of Ontario Farmerettes is a 50 minute documentary film that tells the extraordinary story of the 40,000 young women who volunteered on Canadian farms and helped win the Second World War. After the screening there will be a special Q&A with the filmmakers and a chance to acquire film autographed copies of Onion Skins and Peach Fuzz: Memories of Ontario Farmerettes, Shirleyan English and Bonnie Sitter’s amazing book. This film has won awards for Best Documentary, Best Documentary Short, Best Canadian Documentary, and Best Film About Women. This event is sponsored by: Centre Flos Women’s Institute, Elmvale Community Recreation Association, Flos Agricultural Society, Friends of Springwater Public Library, and the Simcoe Federation of Agriculture.  Friday May 22, 7pm at the Elmvale Community Hall. Cost: $20.00. Tickets are available online through the library website.
Get Ready for Kindergarten
Join us at the library to get your child ready for kindergarten. This is a four week series; however, feel free to sign up for the specific week(s) that your child needs. Please register your child (parents do not need to register but a care giver’s attendance is required). Cost: Free. Mondays in June at Elmvale Branch, 10:30am. Registration required. Topics covered include: ABC’s, Phonics, and Printing their name, Numbers, Shapes, and Patterns, Packing lunches and Backpack needs.

Summer Reading Program Registration
Hey kids! Sign up for our summer reading program and earn a registration prize! We’ve got a variety of programs, Storywalks games, crafts, prizes and STEM planned for a whole summer of fun! Registration opens Monday June 1 at 10am.
Take and Make Craft
Every month the library will have a new FREE craft kit for you to take home and make! Each month be sure to stop by and ask staff for a kit! Kits are only available while supplies last. Monday June 1: Rainbow umbrella.
PA Day Program
This PA Day play old favourites, learn a new game, or bring one to share! There is no registration required for this drop-in program. Friday June 5, Elmvale and Midhurst Branches. Starts at 10am.
