LOUCKS, William
William George Loucks, beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, colleague, and friend, passed away surrounded by family at home on August 28, 2025, at the age of 70. Bill was born on August 31, 1954, in Parry Sound to Harold Loucks and Marion Morris. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, known for his love of deer and turkey hunting. He enjoyed playing cards and wood carving, but above all, he adored his wife Gay and cherished the moments spent with his family, whether at the fish camp at Indian Lake or around any bbq or bonfire no matter where it was. With a quick wit and infectious smile, Bill brought joy to everyone around him. He loved taking charge at the grill while whipping up a batch of his famous jalapeƱo poppers, telling fish tales and cracking jokes, worming hooks for the kids learning to fish at the Hunters and Anglers, and though it was a lot of work, he took pride in bragging about how many fish he filleted at the annual fishing derby. William is survived by his wife, Gay; sisters Kathy (brother-in-law Bob), Laurie (brother-in-law Frank), and Bobbi; brother Hap (sister-in-law Shirley); and predeceased by his brother-in-laws Ken and Amedee. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Andy, Durrell (sister-in-law Pam), Rick (sister-in-law Bonnie), Dan (sister-in-law Doris), and sisters-in-law Dianne, Margery (brother-in-law Gary), and Linda. He leaves behind children Bill and Chris (daughter-in-law Kate), Holly (son-in-law Matt), and grandchildren James, Henry, Simon, Jace, and Blake, as well as many nieces and nephews. A celebration of life was held on August 31, 2025, at the Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers in Port McNicoll from 2 PM to 8 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Georgian Bay Hunters and Anglers, of which he has been a proud member for over 40 years.
Bill leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We are grateful for the time we shared with him, and we will honour his memory by celebrating the joy he brought to our lives everyday. May he rest in peace.
