THOMPSON, John David (Jack)

It’s with broken hearts we announce that, after a brief illness, our sweet, kind Uncle Jack passed away peacefully at Hospice Huronia on May 21, 2026, at the age of 88 years young. John was the much-loved baby brother of Irene Beckerson and Marilyn Majoros, both recently predeceased. He was the adored uncle, great-uncle, and great-great-uncle to many nieces and nephews, all of whom he was extremely proud of. He was a friend to all and loved meeting new people, always striking up conversations with complete strangers wherever he went. He cherished his retirement years living full-time on Orr Lake. We would like to thank his wonderful neighbours; the amazing staff and volunteers at Hospice Huronia; Dr. Sanders and Dr. DeBoer; and for his outstanding “care at home” helpers Victoria, Stephanie, Kelly, Megan, and Johanna. Special thanks as well to the staff at Foodland and Whitfield’s of Elmvale. As per John’s wishes, cremation has taken place and he will be buried with his parents, Cyril and Edna.
