GARD, William Norman

William, “Bill” Gard, age 86, gently passed away on April 7th, 2025. Bill was the loving life partner of the late Valerie Eileen Davies, of Orr Lake, Ontario.  Bill was the loving son of the parents of the late Norman Charles and the late Jessie Gard (nee, Phoenix).

Bill was a loved brother to: Sandra Soanes (Alexander Soanes), Albert Gard, (Martha MacDonald), Gordon Gard, (Fran Gard).

Bill was a loved and respected uncle to: Deborah Murray (Steve Murray), Janice LeFaive (Duane Wright), David Soanes (Craig Ewing), Susan Vergados, Grant Gard (Anna Gard).

Bill was the great uncle to: Michael Murray (Amy Persia), Glenn, Stuwart (Eve Willier), Nicole LeFaive (Bill Tubman), Eric Lafaive (Emily Lefaive) Jonathan Vergados, Alexandria Vergados, and Haylee Vergados.

Bill was a step-father to John Davies, Robert Davies (Sharlene Davies), Ann Laurin (Norman Laurin), Eileen Davies.

Bill was a loved Step-Papa and Grandpa to: Tabatha Davies, Patrick Davies, Sarah Davies, Meagan Davies, Jackie Ulker, (Darin Ulker)  Emma Davies, Audry Davies.

He was a favorite with his great Step grandchildren who called him Grandpa Bill:

William Davies, Emilia Rivera, Madeline Rivera, Ezra Rivera, Ella Ulker, and Hannah Ulker.

Bill was a close step uncle to: Jim Elliott (Eileen EJ Elliott), Kathleen Elliott-Del Genio (David Del Genio), Douglas Elliott (Jennifer Elliott) Sharon Foley (Shawn Foley).

And a great uncle to: Joey Elliott, Tommy Elliott (Sarah Elliott), Elizabeth, Joseph Del Genio, Justin Elliott (Audrey Elliott), Ethan Elliott (Arina Nazersmith), Kelsey Elliott, and a great great Uncle to: Rori Elliott, Charlie Elliott,  Oliver and Levi Elliott, Georgia and Spencer, Paton Elliott, Darcie Elliott, Noah Nazersmith.

Bill loved his yearly fishing trip with his buddies, and life friends: John & Steve Lynn, Garnet Desjardins, Ernie Quesnelle, and Terry Diver. Bill spent eleven months planning his fishing trip and one month packing.

Thank you Bill, for loving our mom, Valerie,  for being an important person in many people’s lives, for your friendship, and sharing your love and passion for nature, outdoors, carpentry, fishing, and all sports. Rest in peace, we love you and we will miss you, say hello to mom!
