Summer Reading Challenge

Our annual Summer Reading Challenge begins on July 2nd until August 16th, 2024! The reading challenge encourages children to read during the summer independently. There will be games and prizes. Kids receive a bingo card and a reading path which is completed with each book they read. This program is free. Registration is open with a valid library card. Children who are 8 years old can get their own library card at registration and will receive a special prize with it. This program is for children ages 4-14 years old. Read at your own level. All literary formats are acceptable: books, magazines, BCD, book packs, wonder books, Playaway’s, Press reader and the Cloud library. Join us today for a fun summer of reading!

Marshmallow Towers

Build a marshmallow tower using marshmallows, toothpicks and spaghetti. Open to ages 5-12 years old. This program will be held on Friday, July 25th from 10:00-11:00 am. The cost is $2.00 per participant. Register with a valid library card.

Shoot, Score, Science and More Find the science in sports. Jump, shoot, roll and glide. Create a sculpture to investigate how throwing a ball affects your balance. Build a mini-golf course and much more. This workshop will be directed by Scientists in School. Participants must be between 5-12 years old. The cost is $2.00. Register with a valid library card.

Storytime

Join us for Storytime on Tuesday, July 30th at 10:00 am. There will be a story, songs, and craft for ages 0-6 years. Register in person with your library card.

Lipbalm Workshop

We will be holding a bath bomb and lip balm workshop for adults.

Lip balm workshop: Tuesday, July 30th at 10:00 am. The cost for this program is $2.00 per workshop. Register in person with your library card.

Dinoland

On Friday, July 19th from 1:00-2:00 pm we will have a fun program for children ages 5-12 years old to learn about dinosaurs, make a dinorama and say hello to one of our dinosaurs! The cost is $2.00 per child. Parents/Guardian must stay in the building for the duration of the program. Register with your library card.

New @PPL

Wye Marsh Family Passes

Passes to Wye Marsh are available at the library for $15.00. Passes are valid for 2 adults and up to 5 children. A valid library card is required to purchase tickets. Tickets can be purchased Mon, Tues, Thurs., and Friday from 9:00-3:00 pm. Non-transferable and non-refundable.

Library Board Meeting

The next Library Board meeting will take place on Monday, September June 30th at 5:30 pm. Open to the public.

The paper is electronically available online on publishing date at our website. The paper is published every other Thursday. The deadline is the Monday before (3 days).
