Canoe and Wilderness Trip, Teens & Tweens, Wye Marsh
Did you know Sept. 22nd is the first PA day of the year? If you are between the ages of 10-15, you can join us for a canoe and wilderness trip to the Wye Marsh from 10:00-2:30 pm! We will take a canoe trip and hike through the Marsh as well as enjoy a presentation on reptiles and learn some survival skills.
Must have a valid library card to participate. This program will take place rain or shine. Please wear appropriate apparel and bring a lunch, snacks and water for the lunch break! The cost of this program is $10.00 per child. Limited to 20 participants. Reserve your spot today!
Reading Circle Agindaasonwin Waawiyebii’igan
Penetanguishene Public Library in partnership with Georgian Bay Native Women’s Association invites the community to a Reading Circle. Storytelling, drumming and a Snack are provided. Join us on Sept. 26th at 10:00 am. Registration required in advance. Library card is not required for this program. Free.
AWENDA Park Presentation
On Tuesday, September 19th from 1:00-2:00 pm we will have a presentation at the library by Tim Tully, Chief Park Naturalist about gorgeous Awenda Park. Register in person with your library and learn everything the park has to offer. Free.
Spanish Lessons
Would you like to learn Spanish? Spanish lessons will begin again in September. Advanced levels Sept. 29th to Nov. 3rd. Register with your library card. Cost: $25.00 Ensure your spot and register early! Our beginner’s class is full for this session!
Lawyers Advice for Seniors
The library will hold a series of free presentations about wills, powers of attorney, real estate, real estate tax and financial planning. Hosted by Edward Jones and HGR Graham Partners at 10:00 on Sept. 28, Oct. 26 and Nov. 23rd. Library card is not required to register for the sessions.
Seniors Walk and Lunch
Once again, we will hold a Seniors Walk and Lunch for anyone who wants to get out and enjoy the outdoors with some conversation amongst other library members. Join us on Thursday, Sept. 21 (meeting place Penetanguishene Arena). The long walk will start at 10:45 and the short walk will start at 11:15 ending back at the Arena. Thereafter, join everyone for a free lunch and further conversation! Sign up with your library card until Sept. 15th.
Herbal Miracles
The next session of Herbal Miracles will be held on Monday, Sept. 25th from 10:30-11:30 am. We will be discussing herbs Stevia, Lavender and Bay! Learn planting conditions, health benefits, crafts and more. Program fee is $2.00. Register with your library card until Sept. 22nd.
